Tales of Screams and Silence
The images in this series can be seen as tableaux vivants presenting characters that are absurd, whimsical and sometimes horrifying. These images attempt to explore a metaphysical state and the nature of being.
They are windows or peepholes into a nightmarish world strewn with specters, madmen, ghouls, grotesques and a little insanity. They contain attributes not unlike those found in folk and fairytales and present the viewer with multiple ways in which to read the story.
The images were made with a small pinhole camera approximately two inches in diameter and a half-inch deep. The negatives were made using black and white gelatin silver paper, scanned and printed as pigment prints.
