Gum Bichromate Pinhole/Zone Plate Photographs

The pinhole camera offers the possibility to create images of temporal quality and provides a way to photograph intimate and meditative aspects of the world around us.

In combination with pinhole, the 19th century gum bichromate process allows me to work with skin-like layers of light-sensitive, pigmented emulsion.

In this process an unlimited palette of color is at hand and each print evolves by building up certain areas and deleting others to further develop the subject’s relationship to the surrounding image.
